Diving With the Mayans

diving.JPGReleased in the summer of '98, Diving is representative of the musical diversity that characterizes the Callbacks. Ben Folds Five, Duran Duran, U2, Cake, Aretha Franklin, and Paul Simon all rub shoulders on this album. Several of Diving's offerings have garnered honors from the Contemporary A Cappella Society.

Ninety Miles an Hour

90.JPGNinety can be considered the Callbacks' breakout cd, a transition from the straight arrangement style that even today lingers in college a cappella to a riskier sound, daring to take on Pearl Jam and Alanis Morissette. "On Your Shore," performed by the NCCA-nominated Best Soloist Nicole Green, is featured on the third volume of the Best of College A Cappella series.

Kaleidoscope

kaleid.gif 1994's Kaleidoscope, our sophomore recording effort, is reflective of the shift to the contemporary that had begun to show itself in college a cappella at this time. The album's progressiveness, fully on display in the spectacular rendition of Paul Simon's "Homeless," is balanced by a great sense of humor and fun.

Off the Record

offtrec.gifHere are the Callbacks roots — our first studio recording, released in 1991. Off the Record wonderfully foreshadows the excellence of the group to come. Some of our original concerts in Sanders Theatre are featured on this album.
